Dear CT Clients,
We hope you and your loved ones are safe, healthy and managing through this unprecedented time. We would also like to extend our sincere gratitude and appreciation for your ongoing patience, understanding and support during this unprecedented time.
To ensure a safe environment for our clients and clinicians, these new procedures are in place in accordance to the WorkSafe BC to minimize the risk of infection through the office.
Physical Distance
To ensure physical distance between clients, there will be less face-to-face appointment available to avoid any overlap of waiting time in the waiting room. Please show up only at your scheduled time. If you’re here early, please wait in your car or outside. we can only accommodate 1 to 2 people in the waiting room at one time. Please come alone unless the appointment is scheduled for a child or 2 family members together. Absolutely no other family members or friends will be allowed inside.
Informed Consent for In-person Counselling
To resume or start in-person counselling services, clients need to provide a signed consent acknowledging the increased risk of in-person appointment and accepting the responsibility of adhering the Safety Plan of self-screening for COVID-19 before each appointment.
If you or a family member are experiencing any cold or flu-like symptoms, including fever, chills, cough, shortness of breath, sore throat, or loss of sense of smell or taste, or have been in contact with somebody that is currently suffering from Covid-19 or have been travelling within the last 14 days, please do not consider booking an appointment.
Most importantly, please cancel your appointment. If you are experiencing any of these symptoms and have not been tested for COVID-19, we recommend you to do so. Call 8-1-1 for further assistance.
You will not be charged any late or cancellation fees at this time if you do not feel well. Also, if you develop or display any symptoms while in the office, your session will be terminated immediately.
Personal protective equipment
If you have a face mask, please bring it with you and wear it during our appointment. Non-surgical masks are fine. Any other face covering is acceptable as well. We have disposable non-surgical masks available if you would like to use one of these. Each mask will cost $1.00. Our clinicians will be wearing a face mask.
Hand hygiene
Upon entering the clinic, please use hand sanitizer provided before and after your appointment.
Payment & Receipt
Payment is ideally done by e-transfer 48 hours before the appointment but can be done by putting the cheque/money in a transparent bag on the day of the appointment as well.
We will only provide electronic version of receipts from now on.
Enhanced cleaning
In between each appointment, the counselling room and the waiting area, as well as frequent touch points will be cleaned with disinfectant. The usual books, cushion, magazines, toys in the waiting area have been removed. We will no longer provide drink or water.
Mr. Clean/Lysol/diluted bleach will be used as disinfectant. If you have problems with the scents, please notify our office or your therapist to discuss the possibility for special arrangement.
At the Vancouver office, the Building Landlord has increased the cleaning from 2 to 4 times a week and takes extra care to disinfect common area surfaces like door knobs, stair railings, and light switch panels following the WorkSafe BC guidelines in the building. A hand disinfectant dispenser is available for use at the stairs near the building front entrance.
At the Burnaby office, the Landlord has hired an employee who does nothing but circulate around our building cleaning common touch points throughout the day – the lobby door handles, escalator railings, elevator buttons, washroom doors, taps, etc. Several times a day, high graded antibacterial spray used in the hospital to kill virus on contact is used to wipe down the common touch points such as reception counters, door handles and reception chairs.
If you have any questions, please feel free to call our office directly at 778-960-0928 or email us at [email protected] As we go along with Phase 2, the requirements may change. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we move forward in our new normal.
We look forward to supporting you and your family again!
Yours Sincerely,
CT Counselling Services
